Weekly Update

Highland Community Church

Highland — Late email, sorry. Carrie and I ended up volunteering at Calvary’s Color Run. My volunteer-time fell in the space of time where I usually write our Weekly Update. I failed to see the conflict in time to write to you earlier in the week.

Even still, we had a really good time! Plus, I got to see this guy (Hey, Alex!) and his family. The race was tons of fun and Jude did really well for himself. I am so proud of him!

I look forward to seeing everyone this Sunday. Doors open at 8am. Coffee will be hot and ready to be served at 8:30am. Sunday School starts at 9am, then our 10am Church Service will immediately follow. See details below:

Sunday Morning Schedule

8am: Doors open
8:30am–9:15am: Coffee & Conversation in our Dining Facility
9am-10am: Sunday School Classes (see class schedule)
9:15am-9:45am: Devotion in our Dining Facility & Robert’s Study for Men (In Classroom 7)
10am: Sunday Morning Service in our sanctuary (In our gym)

Classes begin at 9am; Classes Conclude October 5th

Classroom 1: 0-2 year olds: Church Nursery
Classroom 2: 3 and 4 year olds
Classroom 3: Kindergarten-Second Grade Class
Classroom 4: Third-Fifth Grade Class

We celebrate with Abel Shelby!

Abel Shelby Was Baptized

Last Sunday, Abel Shelby made a public profession of faith – that Jesus is Lord. We then all shared in the joy of seeing him be baptized. Highland, let’s continue to intercede for this young boy, that he may walk according to God’s Word all the days of his life.

Celebrating Twenty Years

As you know, in October, we celebrate 20 years of the Lord’s faithfulness to Highland. Originally a church plant of Edgewood Baptist Church, we have seen the Lord yield fruit that remains now through the life of Highland – oh, great is the Lord; worthy is He to be praised!

We will be holding a Service of Remembrance Sunday, October 19th, with lunch following the service. All are welcome to attend. Furthermore, please consider reflecting on how the Lord brought you to Highland. Click here to write a recollection of the Lord’s goodness.

Drawing Near The Klaus Family

In closing, as you pray, certainly remain before the Lord for the Klaus family. David has arrived overseas and is connected with those whom the Lord has entrusted to him on this trip. Let’s keep him in prayer as he is away. Let’s also remain available to Kimberly, supporting her throughout the duration of David’s trip.
