Tomorrow's Service

Highland fam, we will gather around this passage tomorrow:

27 Just one thing: Live your life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or am absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind,[j] working side by side for the faith that comes from the gospel, 28 not being frightened in any way by your opponents. This is a sign of destruction for them, but of your deliverance—and this is from God. 29 For it has been given to you on Christ’s behalf not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for Him, 30 having the same struggle that you saw I had and now hear that I have.
— Philippians 1:27-30

Can’t wait to see you!

Rob

Today's Service.

For me, living is Christ and dying is gain. Now if I live on in the flesh, this means fruitful work for me; and I don’t know which one I should choose. I am pressured by both. I have the desire to depart and be with Christ — which is far better — but to remain in the flesh is more necessary for you. Since I am persuaded of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, so that, because of me, your confidence may grow in Christ Jesus when I come to you again.
— Philippians 1:21-26

Back to our Series Through Philippians.

Highland Family,

I will return to the pulpit this Sunday. We will continue to work through the latter part of the first chapter of Philippians. Here is the passage we will tackle:

For me, living is Christ and dying is gain. 22 Now if I live on in the flesh, this means fruitful work for me; and I don’t know which one I should choose. 23 I am pressured by both. I have the desire to depart and be with Christ—which is far better— 24 but to remain in the flesh is more necessary for you. 25 Since I am persuaded of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that, because of me, your confidence may grow in Christ Jesus when I come to you again.

— Philippians 1:21-30

I love you so much, Highland! Serving you, in honor of our Lord, is such a joy.

Rob

Today's Service.

Robert Singleton preached today. He did a great job challenging us to remain faithful, through it all! His sermon flowed out of this passage:

Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and rewards those who seek Him.
— Hebrews 11:6

One of the most powerful statements made was when he said: “I am evidence of God’s faithfulness.” May we all press on in our faithfulness, bringing pleasure to our Lord. Great job, Robert!

Sunday's Service.

Having part of St Luke’s Youth Group with us last Sunday was a blast! Having them lead us in worship, then having Jonathan Moore preach was so much fun - and God-honoring, because when we are unified, He is glorified.

St. Luke, thank you for coming and joining us for Mission Meals!

Highland Welcomes St. Luke this Sunday!

Highland Tribe!

This Sunday, we will have members of St Luke’s Youth Group join us, along with their Youth Pastor. They will be with us for Mission Meals. However, they will also assist in other parts of our 11am service. Their Youth Praise Band will be leading us in song and Jonathan Moore, their Youth Pastor, will be preaching. Love it! When we (His people) are unified, He is glorified!

See you Sunday.

I love you,

Rob

Lord, be near Naomi.

* Update; Naomi has been found!
But You Yourself have seen trouble and grief,
observing it in order to take the matter into Your hands.
The helpless entrusts himself to You;
You are a helper of the fatherless.
— Psalm 10:14

Highland family, a precious child named Naomi is missing tonight. This child belongs to Alana, who attends our church. She is the daughter of Barbara and married to Chris. They all attend our church regularly and mean so much to so many. Let us gather in prayer for all involved.

I also want to thank so many of our Highland family who came out in droves to search for the child. I count myself blessed to be part of our tribe.
