We are so excited to be able to start Jobs for Life this Monday, at 3:30pm. Report to the sanctuary.
Communion Sunday.
Highland Family,
We hold Communion this Sunday. Let us gather and reflect upon our hearts, while we rejoice over the cross of Christ.
I love you.
Rob
Jesus Saves.
Salvation belongs to our Lord:
“The One who comes from above is above all. The one who is from the earth is earthly and speaks in earthly terms. The One who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what He has seen and heard, yet no one accepts His testimony. The one who has accepted His testimony has affirmed that God is true. For God sent Him, and He speaks God’s words, since He gives the Spirit without measure. The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hands. The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him.”
Cathy Woodman Has Passed Away.
Highland.
It is with deep sadness that I tell you that Cathy Woodman passed away February 21, 2020. She is now at rest with our Lord, because of what Jesus has done - He paid it all. She professed Jesus to be Lord and was a charter member of Highland Community Church. Though she will be sorely missed, we rejoice over the memory of her, as she brought laughter to so many. Highland, it’s now our duty to care for Roger, her husband of 39 years. Let us rally around him in love and care, plus his family, too.
I love you, Highland. I am grateful to serve you.
Rob
You will be missed, Cathy.
Thank you for everything.
Welcome back, dear friend!
His Mercy is More!
Such a powerful quote from a great talk on God’s mercy toward us:
““When you see me praise Him, it’s not because things are good or great; but because He is great in His mercy.””
Highland, See You Tomorrow!
Highland,
Tomorrow, we will open up God’s Word and really see that it is just all about Jesus.
Join us.
I love you.
Rob

Next Sunday, February 9th, Pierce Chapel will host their Global Impact Celebration. Their emphasis will be our Highland Community. Recap from Our Service
Highland, today’s sermon serves as a hinge-point into our next series of sermons. They will be based on Jesus’ description of the role of the Counselor, found in John 16:5-11.
““But now I am going away to Him who sent Me, and not one of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ Yet, because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send Him to you. When He comes, He will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment: About sin, because they do not believe in Me; about righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see Me; and about judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.””
These points covered today help keep His Word before our hearts and eyes, as we move forward:
Tomorrow's Service
Highland,
I look so forward to seeing you tomorrow!! I love what we have and I am grateful that the Lord has seen fit to establish us, as His people. Let us press on to know Him, together, that He may be our greatest delight - our deepest desire! In so doing, He arranges all of our secondary loves properly; the result is our good and His glory in our lives.
Tomorrow, we continue strengthening our grip on Biblical wisdom and take Communion. Come ready to lift up the name of Jesus in one accord with hearts open to the Holy Spirit’s conviction and counsel. See you tomorrow.
I love you Highland,
Rob
*Reminder: Men’s Bible Study starts this Wednesday. It will be at the church at 6pm. Let’s get started, men.
