Weekly Update
Highland,
Due to technical difficulties, the service from this past Sunday was not recorded. We continue to look for solutions. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Highland, let us gather.
This church opens wide her doors with a welcome from Jesus Christ.
‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the city, and bring in here the poor, maimed, blind, and lame’ (Luke 14:21b)!
Each Saturday from 10:30am-1:00pm, we serve our streets a meal of Chicken & Rice, along with the Gospel. Volunteers are welcome to join us. Chicken & Rice Ministries is our flagship work. It serves as the invitation to all in our streets to come and know Christ. If you would like to come and serve, please contact us.
9am: Coffee & Conversation
As you arrive, grab a cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Enjoy having conversation with one another and the chance to be together. Also, if you’re willing, some will be setting up for the 10 am service. We welcome your help, if you’re able.
10am: Service in Our Sanctuary
During Easter Sunday, our children were afforded the opportunity to be part of a very rich worship service and class just for them! The Children’s Class was spearheaded by a very capable group of people within our church. Since it was such a great experience for all, this team now plans to hold classes each first Sunday of the month for children, ages 5 and up. It’s called: Kids Sunday! Kids Sunday will begin this Sunday, May 1st. As you arrive for our 10am Service with children 5 and up, please take them to the playground so that they can receive a name-tag and be assigned to their group. During the service they will always be either in the classrooms off the deck, for Bible or craft, or outside for a game. Furthermore, if you’re interested in helping with Kids Sundays, please talk to Julie Jordan, Katie Sturgeon or Carol Wright. On these first Sundays, while COVID concerns are low, we will hold our 10am Service in our Sanctuary. As soon as service concludes, please make arrangements to pick up your children from the playground.
Childcare Available, Ages 0-4
Childcare will be offered during our Tent Gatherings for children, ages 0-4. Childcare will be held in the Truth Spring Trade School Daycare, located at 3303 5th Ave. It is the white house with white picket fence and 2 blue doors. We have a terrific team of volunteers comprised of people who attend Highland. Thank you, all, for caring for our children. Donna Findley is our Coordinator. She’s doing a great job! Thank you, Donna! Volunteers will be ready to receive 0-4 year-old aged-children by 9:50am.

Tent Gathering, 10am, this Sunday. We continue through our Membership Matters Series.

10am-11am: Tent Gathering Service. *At 10am, bring your camping chairs or blankets to make for yourself a place outside, underneath our tent. We will gather to worship as we set our eyes upon Jesus. Highland, I ask that we would be in prayer for the name of Jesus to be exalted in our corporate gathering; that those who wander, or are deceived throughout our streets, would hear that Jesus saves, and repent! We will conclude and dismiss following this service. So, breakfast will be offered but not lunch.

Highland,
Due to technical difficulties, David Klaus’ sermon was unable to be recorded today. We are so sorry to not have had the chance to capture this amazing sermon and we apologize for the inconvenience.
“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
“O death, where is your victory?”
“O death, where is your sting?”
“The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
1 Corinthians 15:54b-58
We will gather tomorrow and celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord!
Due to the forecasted rain, we will gather inside as we worship.
A few notes and changes to be aware:
9:00 Coffee and Conversation under the Pavilion
10:00 Worship Service in the Sanctuary
Nursery will be open at the Truth Spring Daycare House for children ages 0-4.
Children ages 5-9 are invited to join a special Children’s Church service led by Julie Jordan during the 10:00 worship service! Children may be dropped off in the classroom right of the deck by the Sanctuary beginning at 9:50.
Highland,
We are going to hold services this Sunday. However, we are watching the weather very closely so that we can make the best plan as to how to gather this Easter Sunday. We are considering all options, including meeting indoors, if the weather does not allow us to be outdoors. We will make and release plans as soon as we can finalize the best way to gather. I love you, Highland. I am grateful for you. Let us gather to celebrate the salvation we have received in the name of Jesus with all of our hearts!
Rob
We would like to thank Katie Parker of KGP Photography for capturing our services this morning. She captures the life of our church so well! We appreciate you, Katie!
