Starting the Year Together.

Highland.

Throughout the month of January from the pulpit, we will be spotlighting a word a week from Scripture and working to get a more Biblical grasp on that word. This is one of my favorite ways to study God’s Word personally! So, I look forward to sharing one of my “hobbies” with you. This Sunday, our first word will be: “generous.”

Starting in February. we will journey through Philippians. As the Lord allows, we will tackle the entire book. Bring your Bibles. Be ready.

We will also continue to pray. We will continue to seek the Lord together, earnestly, on behalf of our families, asking for revival. The Lord is stirring us. Stirring results in agitation, which we have seen in the spiritual realm. But, as His remnant, we will see His glory rise. The defining role of the church is prayer - ‘For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’ (Mk 11:17). Highland, let us position our hearts to receive the response of our Lord.

See you Sunday.

I love you. I am grateful for each of you.

Rob

Thank You!

To All Who Took Part in our Christmas Season,

Thank you so, so much for being part of our Christmas season! Billy Graham once said: “The love of Christ compels us to love our neighbor, then grants us the capacity to do so.” I am so thankful that I get a front row seat to see Christians throughout our community do just this. I am humbled and honored to serve at this station in my life; humbled beyond my ability to express it in words.

I am so grateful to share in this life with each of you. My only hope is that I can bring you all as much joy as you bring to me. May way we all press on to know the Lord in a richer way this upcoming year; for His counsel is sure and right. May His delight be our deepest desire.

Along your side,

Rob

Open for Business!

We’re ready! Thanks to all of our donors, volunteers and supporters, the North Highland Christmas Store hosted by Highland Community Church and Truth Spring will be open for business tomorrow!

We had an extremely generous response to our request for gifts from all over the city and our help in setting up today was top-notch! We want to thank every person who played a part in making this store a reality. We could not have done it without you!

Merry Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Abraham Lincoln made Thanksgiving a National Holiday in 1863. Here is his proclamation:

No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy. It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and voice by the whole American People. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.”

Highland family, let us gratefully acknowledge one another with one heart this Thanksgiving, as Lincoln encouraged us to, offering honor to our Lord. I am grateful to have each of you in my life.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Rob
