sharing in christ together

As I consider Kathy’s testimony from last Sunday, I took away some profoundly strong points! Here are two of them:

  • Regarding motherhood: “The wife and mother influences the future of any society more than any other force. A wife encourages and supports her husband, who in turn, influences society. A mother nurtures her children in the laws of God, so they can be godly leaders of future generations.”

  • Regarding life in Christ: “I am striving to live to bring glory and honor to God. I know that I probably could have been successful, as the world defines success, without God, but oh, how EMPTY and meaningless my life would be. Jesus is the only one who could fill the void in my soul. In Him, I am complete.”

Unfortunately, her testimony was not recorded. We had a technical difficulty—our loss. Even still, thank you, Kathy! I hope we savor her points, Highland.

This Sunday, we carry on with testimonies. We will have Thomas Findley share how the Lord is at work in his life. As it stands, he will share in both Coffee and Conversation & our 10am Service.

Thanks, everyone!

thanks, agape feast team!

To those who served us all so joyously during the Agape Feast, thank you! I really appreciate your hospitable manner. So grateful that each of you also came to prep, plus stayed afterward to clean up. I love you.

Listening Session, 9am, in Red Brick Sanctuary.

Listening sessions begin this sunday

Begins this Sunday in Red-Brick Sanctuary, 9am

Hey y'all! It's Billy. I am excited to invite you to a series of gatherings this spring and summer at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings. We are referring to them as “Listening Sessions.”

God has called each of us to this place for a purpose. And praise God, Highland is growing. We want to prayerfully consider new short term and long term goals for the church. Before we do that, we want to work through some questions together and gather some feedback. Come to any or all of the sessions! Here’s the plan:

- We will start and end each session with Scripture.

- I will facilitate guided questions and discussion on the present and the future of our Church.

- We will pray together.

- Childcare is provided - sign up in advance.

- We might have donuts!

- The times will be an encouragement to you, I promise!

This is an exciting season at Highland, and we want you to contribute! My prayer is that these sessions, as Rob outlines in our Prayer Guides, strengthen the strands of stewardship for our Church.

The dates for the sessions are listed below. The sessions are friendly to you if you can only come to one or if you can come to all six. Please make plans to attend any or all! Let me know if you have any questions. Note: We will meet in the old red brick sanctuary.

Prayer Guide

Highland, as we pray for North Highland this week — let us continue to work out our salvation, by drawing even nearer to the Lord, submissively. Abiding in Him, contentedly, will result in our own salvation outworking in fruitfulness and reverence. Those who do not know the Lord in our community (and throughout our lives) will taste of the sweetness of those fruits, tasting the goodness of the Lord.
