Highland,
I am really enjoying the chance to work through Matthew together! We are in the sixteenth chapter. It’s in this section of Matthew’s gospel that we encounter Peter’s confession of Jesus being Lord – Heaven being encountered and revealed in human hearts.
This passage brings us face to face with Jesus. He is God’s Son. He is the Sacrificial Lamb. He is the Lion of Judah. Do we behold His majesty? Do our lives bear evidence to our tongue’s confession that Jesus is Lord? “Lord, may we be a generation marked by healthy, abundant, holy fruits, borne out of our confession of Christ as Lord.”
We pray for Highland this week. As we pray this week, please see our Prayer Guide. The content coincides with what Jesus says in response to Peter’s confession. We take Jesus’ directives and we pray through them this week, plus give shape to the outline for Sunday’s Sermon.
