Recent photo celebrating Noah & Emma’’s Engagement
I hope you have had a terrific week. Our family has really enjoyed our time together! We have had the chance to spend restful time together. Often, the clock feels chewed up with tasks in a given week. It didn't feel like that this week. It was a welcomed change.
The Klaus Fam
Thinking of our family’s week, I was drawn to remember the Klaus family. David continues to serve the Lord across seas. Let us continue to serve their family while he is away. We certainly want to ensure they are supported. Let us continue to pray strength over them, Highland, in the name of the Lord.

Continuing through Matthew
Our series through Matthew has us in the tenth chapter. We see how the Chief Shepherd now calls to order and commissions the twelve to go seek the lost sheep of Israel. This commissioning, of course, is to fulfill the words spoken by the prophet, Ezekiel:
“I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them in justice” (Ezekiel 34:16).
I regret to report that last Sunday’s sermon was recorded. Some type of technical blunder on my end. I am sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause you. I will do my best to recap this upcoming Sunday.
This Sunday, we work through Jesus’ warning to avoid wolves, while telling His disciples to be “as innocent as doves and as wise as serpents.” I look forward to journeying through this portion of Matthew this Sunday, Highland.
book of REMEMBRANCE — 20 years
October marks twenty years of Highland Community Church’s existence. Originally a plant of Edgewood Baptist Church, we have seen the Lord establish His purposes in us. May we both continue to exist to know Christ as Lord, and to make Him known to those around us, throughout our days.
To commend this occasion, we invite you to complete an entry in our Book of Remembrance. By clicking here, you access our form, completing your entry. We hope to compile them, offering all a chance to see how the Lord is at work in our lives. We welcome your participation.

Highland cafe’
Open for business! 8:30am—11:30am, M-F
Highland cafe’
Due to an ongoing need of capable leadership, we are only able to open the cafe when we have qualified leaders present. While many days have been adopted by Highland Board members, we still have a need for other capable leaders to assist in the Cafe’ Ministry. Please contact us if you would like to further discuss this opportunity.
In the meantime, please realize that our standard operating hours are simply a framework. Therefore, if we are not open at a given time and you show up, please forgive the inconvenience. It’s best to contact us beforehand so that we can inform you if the cafe is, indeed, open.
So grateful for you, Highland.
I love you,
Rob
